Being in the Now

Learning to Be!

Thich Nhat Hanh on the Interdependence of All Things in the Universe

“What is non-self, Anatta? It means impermanence. If things are impermanent, they don’t remain the same things forever. You of this moment are no longer you of a minute ago. There is no permanent entity within us, there is only a stream of being.  There is always a lot of input and output. The input and the output happen in every second, and we should learn how to look at life as streams of being, and not as separate entities.

How to Stop Absorbing Other People’s Emotions

Emotions such as fear, anger, frustration, and immobility are energies. And you can potentially ‘catch’ these energies from people without realizing it. If you tend to be an emotional sponge, it’s vital to know how to avoid taking on an individual’s negative emotions, or even how to deflect the free-floating negativities in crowds.

Another twist is that chronic anxiety, depression, or stress can turn you into an emotional sponge by wearing down your defenses. Suddenly, you become hyper-attuned to others, especially suffering with similar pain.

Cutting the Cords That Bind You

by Ayal Hurst

We all know when someone is gazing at us – we get a sense that some energy emanations have been directed our way. We feel the energetic vibrations and we know when something or someone has connected with us in some way. We are all telepathic, although some have become more conscious of and developed this innate ability more than others.

Are You Always Wanting More? How Desire Can Be A Blessing In Disguise

Desire can run our entire life; desire for pleasant experiences, tastes, sounds, sensations and scenarios. We can work with these desires to see them for what they truly are, and how they take us away from present moment completeness.
The thing with desire is the “if only” mind. The wanting mind that wants what is not here. If only I had time to meditate more in the morning. If only I could be more present. If only I’d eaten less. If only I looked younger.

Symptoms of Spiritual Awakening

1. Changing sleep patterns: restlessness, hot feet, waking up two or three times a night. Feeling tired after you wake up and sleepy off and on during the day. There is something called the Triad Sleep Pattern that occurs for many: you sleep for about 2-3 hours, wake up, go back to sleep for another couple of hours, wake again, and go back to sleep again. For others, the sleep requirements have changed. You can get by on less sleep. Another variation of this is what I call “black-hole sleep” — you sleep for 10 hours or more.

Purple Lotus Meditation

by Sheila
The purple lotus flower is a symbol of spiritual freedom and Divine Grace.

To Buddhists, its purple color signifies Divine power, love, action and compassion. The lotus also means purity and sincerity, joy and peace. It will bring good fortune and abundance for family and friends. When placed in a southwest corner, it will bring romance and love. Its crystal form intensifies the pure divine energy and magnifies its power.

When you receive a purple crystal lotus, you will be guided to place it where you need power and clarity.

Meditation on Twin Hearts

THE TWIN HEARTS: Crown Chakra – Heart Chakra

What is Meditation on Twin Hearts?

Meditation on Twin hearts is based on the principle that some of the major energy centers or chakras are entry points or gateways to certain levels or horizons of consciousness. The Twin Hearts pertain to the heart and crown energy centers. The heart chakra is an energy center in front of a person’s chest. It is the energy counterpart to the physical heart. The heart chakra is the center for compassion, joy, affection, consideration, mercy, and other higher refined emotions.

Meditation: Invocation of the Divine One

It is recommended that you perform this meditation at least once a day, preferably in the mornings before you begin your walk on this physical plane. Make certain that you sit comfortably in a quiet space with your spine straight. Do not lie down for these meditations. You may sit on a cushion, a chair, or the floor. Keep your eyes closed throughout the meditation as this shuts down one of our most influential senses – our vision of this physical world.
